A tip for another time - as many Europe-TLV flights somehow seem to arrive early morning (I've flown Swiss that way 6 times): if you do get a rental car, take the drive over to the Dead Sea, drive down to Ein Bokek, check yourself into one of the seaside spas for 4 hours, get some sun and saltwater and a nice outdoor nap. At noon, you'll be rested, tanned and happy and you drive the 1.5 hours back to Tel Aviv for checking in at the hotel. It's worth it and a great start to any Israel holiday
