A 2 hour delay for departure on a longhaul doesn't mean a 2 hour delay for arrival.

However this is the risk you take when booking separate tickets. BA won't 'absorb' any of the cost of a new ticket, but would be liable under EU261 depending on the reason for the delay and how delayed you are in arriving.
