I'm flying one in and out of SNA next week. I flew Airbusses into and out of there all the time when I was flying them, and don't remember ever having any kind of weight restriction. Yes, it's a short runway, but everything I ever flew into and out of SNA, including 737-500, -300, 757, and A-319/320 had adequate performance for all the performance challenges that are normally accounted for.
