My wife, girlfriend and two son's were checked in today, on a ticket booked on my wife's Aeroplan account. There was no baggage fee. 1 locator. My wife has no status. (The sons, nor the girlfriend, have no status).

Free bags for them!

I checked in, Superelite since forever, on an Aeroplan ticket, and it wanted $20 per bag.

No free bags for me! No soup for me!

So I called the SE desk just told me to call a Concierge at the airport when I check in to null the charge.

LOL.

A trip like this really shows the hatred that exists between Air Canada and Aeroplan.

What Air Canada *really needs* is a frequent flyer program that it can control.
Imagine when the new YYC terminal opens and AC moves to the automated check in thing they are putting into place... oh the LOL's that will be had.
I genuinely hate the shift towards kiosks from most airlines. I prefer to check in with an actual agent.
