I think DXB is getting a bit more used to having AS mileage plan members use the lounge. It seems to help if you remind them that it is an award ticket. Twice when I passed through they seemed to think it was a travel agent or other industry non-rev ticket that wouldn't be eligible for lounge access. Remind them it's an award and provide your AS FF number.
On my last two times, I was asked "are you an employee?" and the next time was told "this is a Business Class ticket". Once I told them it was an Alaska award ticket, there was no problem. Strange though.
