Etihad has confirmed that I can use the ticket but that I have to go through the agent because it's they aren't able to see the value of the ticket ( not sure why that is the case coz the price is written on the ticket ). Should I threaten to lodge a complaint against him? Who would I even complain to?

Have you looked at the address on Google Maps Street View? Does it look like a legit place?
