Why have I had to pay for an exit seat if I am a Silver member?
Just had to pay £50 for an exit seat on a 747 in WT to Boston from LHR, two weeks out as they become 'free' for selection. Why is this?

I rang the Silver line and the lady told me her system wouldn't allow me to have one for free either. "Try tomorrow" she advised, as the last few remaining ones were disappearing before my eyes.

Can't understand why this happened. I thought you got exit seats for free two weeks out.. Any ideas anyone?
