If so, they will refund half of the fare after the first leg is flown? Or they have some other way to calculate the amount of refund? It would not make sense if the amount of refund of 2nd leg of the reservation is a lot more than half of the fare paid.
I think you can cancel it, but you will probably be told that the credit remaining on the ticket will be just a small, small fraction of the total fare. For example, if you pay $1000 and then try to cancel the return flight you will be told that the remaining value is about $12, of something like that.
