Food, snacks, beer and wine:
If you are staying in Auckland prior to taking the bus to the Bay of Islands on Friday, it may be a good idea to stock up on some snacks, food, beer or wine for the bus ride north as well as to have some light things to munch on in Paihia. Saturday morning will be an early start, so a little something before the bus picks us up as well as snacks for the all day tour would be a good idea. Lunch is the only food that is included on the tour.

Weather
The sun is really strong in NZ, especially if you are not used to it. Be sure to bring sunscreen and sunnies.
The weather also changes on a dime. Layers are the way to go and a lightweight windbreaker type of jacket is also a good idea.
Items to bring:
Hat, sunscreen, change of clothes for sand boarding and camera.
The tour will stop for morning tea (at your own expense). Feel free to bring your own morning tea/snacks. Lunch is the only meal that is included on the tour.
