A little off-topic, but since it's a related thread and the OP seems to have been adequately answered, I didn't want to start a new thread.

Here's my related question: family of 4 (two teenagers) on a longlayover at MUC on a weekday, arriving 9AM departing 9PM. Should we rent a car and drive around, or somewhere nearby? Should we visit Salzburg? Or should we just visit Munich?

If visiting Munich, what's the cost for the train from the airport into town and back? Does the Bayern Ticket apply here as well?
