How do they "refund" the payment if you're using a GC?
CheckFreePay told me that when the payments I made were rejected, CheckFreePay itself paid Wal-Mart's corporate account for the amount I paid. So Wal-Mart was responsible for getting the money back to me--and no one at first knew how to do that. Finally, someone thought of scanning the receipt for the billpay and doing a return on the transaction--and the cash drawer popped open for a cash refund. Since I didn't want $6K in cash, they decided to reissue the bill payments, one by one, and say they were paid for in cash. Thus the register would balance and no one would have to deal with finding $6K in cash anywhere to do the refund. It worked out fine...
