It would take you maybe 1 hour at the most to go from Santa Monica to LAX on Monday morning. You have plenty of time.
The
Channel Road Inn in Santa Monica Canyon is less than half an hour from LAX if your cabbie knows the quick way. Half a block from the beach, lots of nice walks in the canyon, and a charming Craftsman house. It was moved there from around Pasadena in three pieces around 1975, sat on cribbing blocks for ten years or more as the original owners ran out of money, and was finally reassembled and restored in 1989.
