For BA Holidays you best try a few places out at times that work for you and see if the cost is good with a dummy booking. I don't think it's more specific than that, other than if you end up spending Saturday night away then BA Holidays will probably offer a similar rate to anything you would book separately. It's more for midweek stays that they come into their own.

For the deals, then yes, keep checking ba.com under Special Offers but also look here on FT regularly, and on Raffles' headforpoints.com for ideas.
