My plan is minimal status on two alliances (Star, via UA, and SkyTeam, via DL) with higher status on one (oneworld, via AA/US). I am UA MM, so I have Lifetime Gold, thus, DL gets just enough flights for Silver, while AA/US gets the majority for PLT/EXP. That way, I can get some of the benefits whomever I fly. I am also Lifetime United Club member and get AA/US club access via the AA Executive card and DL club access via the DL AmEx Reserve card. I like to keep my options open and could switch AA/US status with DL if AA makes me angry as the merger works out.
