Not sure you meant to quote me, but, in my case, no husband...and it was about 8 months before my passport was due to expire, but I knew I needed to renew my visa...

It was actually a well planned and orchestrated evolution planned during a LHR JFK DTW MSP ANC SEA JFK LHR mileage run; I was not willing to live without my passport for 4-6 weeks.
