I don't believe the line is open at midnight. They have changed the times more than once recently so I would call the day before and ask. Also unless it's change you can call two days in advance if you are Elite. The passenger doesn't have to be Elite, only the A+ Account paying for the upgrades. I've done the several time for my MIL who hardly flies at all.
