Just like the Redcard debit card, the Redbird card shouldn't impact your credit either since its not a credit card. They don't pull your credit for the Redbird card just like they don't do that with BB or Serve. But I agree with your assessment that in most cases getting the Redcard debit card along with Serve is a better option. However places like the SF Bay Area where there are not many WMs at all but have Target stores, the Redbird is definitely an interesting alternative. Because being able to load $5K (assuming Target allows VGCs to load) >>>> $1-1.5K in CC load. Everything else is the same.
