thanks iadmin. I acutally called AA and the reservation rep was very helpful. When I originally booked the flight I didn't have my Citi card. So basically she just removed my AAdvantage member ID from my reservation and then added it back in. Viola....now I get free baggage and 1st priority boarding.
Removing and then re-adding the frequent flier number is usually the easiest and fastest solution to the card benefits not kicking in automatically.
Group 1 won't appear on the boarding passes of those traveling with you, but up to three other people on the same reservation as you get the same benefits.
