New member here. I read an old post with an idea on how to earn Asia Miles with HK salary tax: pay tax with CCB dual currency card, and then pay CCB through HSBC Platinum VISA - only requirement being that one must have a HSBC bank account.

I have two questions:
1 - couldn't one pay the tax with any credit card, and then pay with HSBC Platinum VISA? It feels like the Asia Miles will only accrue to the HSBC card transaction.

2 - taking this one step further, shouldn't everyone just pay all credit card balances with HSBC Platinum VISA - therefore earning Asia Miles through initial credit card and then the HSBC Platinum VISA? Of course, the constraint here is the HSBC card credit limit.
