As not all redemption AS seats on AS website, as you write you searched on, become AA seats, but any MileSAaver ones on AA are in my experience bookable for BAEC redemptions.

Update, I found the same AA MilesAAver shown on AS so evidently the BAEC agent either misled me or doesnt understand what is involved with booking AS flights using Avios. I will call again.
