Here's the deal. If the plane is not full, Delta will not put someone in the middle without charging for the seat(EC add-on fee). In this case the odds are good that it will go out empty If the plane is full/overbooked - Delta will stick anyone in that seat without charge.
Won't DL put non revs into any open EC seat when they clear onto the flight, assuming that there aren't any FC seats for the non revs?
