4 planes evacuated from GUM ahead of Vongfong

Vongfong is now predicted to pass near Rota around 2 am Mon ChST, about 7 hours from now, at 115-mph (US Cat 3) intensity. Guam is predicted to be within the 50-kt (58-mph) wind radius.

All Monday morning GUM flights are canceled. Sunday night departures are not returning to GUM.

Looking from FlightStats, UA is evacuating four planes out of GUM. (1) The HNL-GUM 777 plane is turning around ASAP, Monday morning GUM-HNL now leaves Sunday evening. (2) Monday evening's GUM-HKG and (3) Monday morning's eastbound Island Hopper now both leave Sunday evening. All these flights are operating on special 2000s flight numbers while the original flights are officially canceled.

One "genuine" evacuation is (4) going to YAP (1.5 hours away). Next originally scheduled YAP flight isn't until Tuesday night.
