I am a Londoner, and I always tip taxi drivers there:

For short journeys I'll tip between £1.00 and £1.90 (rounding up as appropriate). For longer journeys I'll tip more – but rarely much over £2.00.

When using Halo for short journeys I'll usually leave a £1.00 cash tip.
