One more thing: consider your direction of flight if you'll be flying when the sun rises or sets.

i.e.: If you're flying north on an evening flight, you'll probably want to sit on the right side of the aircraft. On the left side the sun will be blasting right in your window and you'll end up closing the shade anyways.
