At checkout it shows the same message as you in Option 1 (option 2 is just pay all the balance)
I am planning to make a hotel reservation for February 2015 (the Amex site gives a much better rate), but will be cancelling my Amex card within the next month - does anyone know if the reservation (and rate) will still be valid?
Also, will be doing at least 5 nights stay at Fairmont then. I am currently Fairmont Plat, thanks to the Amex fast-track, do you think I will be able to renew my Fairmont Plat with 5 nights without the Amex Plat?
