So I enquired to BA about the following 5 questions
1) If I accept the cancellation, can I also cancel the flight that is on a separate booking but bringing us to London from NYC 3 days before
2) If I accept the cancellation, is there any possibility for the vouchers, ie. the GGL joker and the BA amex companion voucher to be extended
3) I have negotiated with the hotel a date change (subject to me paying the difference), is BA opened to reroute me on alternative dates when they do fly to Male (i.e. either before or after the date)
4) Is there any chance that BA will look to accommodate us and reroute us around those dates with other carriers
5) I was told that EU261 didn't apply here. Can you please ask your legal team to draft me the reasons for this in this case.
Got the following answer. I love the term 'flight times can be subject to change'..Yes this is an annoying 'time change'. I obviously think they are mocking me and all laughing about it.

Dear TheHak
I do understand that you have been inconvenienced immensely because of our decision to withdraw our service from London Gatwick to Male from 29 March 2015.
I know it can be very frustrating when we have to make these changes or make a decision for commercial reasons. This would not have been a decision that was taken lightly, but if there is a lack of demand on a certain route, then we do reserve the right to suspend the route indefinitely.
Airline timetables do have to alter occasionally, but we do try and keep the changes to an absolute minimum wherever we can. However, I appreciate on this occasion this particular withdrawal has caused you so many problems.
We have cancelled these flights using our Conditions of Carriage and flight times can be subject to change. Alternatives cannot be found to suit your needs, so you will be entitled to a full refund of the price you have paid for your tickets.
You mentioned in your email that you wanted our Legal team to reply to you with an explanation and interpretation of the seat availability. There would only be able to do this if requested by a lawyer or solicitor. Thank you for getting in touch and for giving me an opportunity to respond.
Yours Sincerely
