Wow that would stink if you they don't allow you to pay the difference for MCE!

My wife and I have been planning on getting AA Citi cards (for a trip to Hawaii) but if this is not allowed I may very well change my mind. I like to fly E+ and just assumed I would be able to get a E award (with the sign points) on those cards and buy up to MCE. This really makes me think twice on pulling the trigger as I just can't do that long a flight in E... EVEN UNITED lets you buy up E+ on their award (E) tickets
