I don't think it's a problem to order it advance and then not to use the service, being an airport they are quite used to a lot of chopping and changing on an hourly basis. It's the other way around - no notice at all - that causes problem. You do pay for this service, so I wouldn't develop a complex about using it, or at least putting them on notice. Or travel more lightly.....
