This stuff can bring astonishing prices. I know a liquor store manager who sold a 15-year for $800 cash. And the oldest can go over $2000.
I'm a giant fan of the free market, but this really pisses me off. Price gouging liquor stores need to be named and boycotted. This isn't a truly free market transaction - the consumer doesn't have equal opportunity to buy the product from the source, as sales are strictly controlled in most states.
