Uber answered and adjusted the fare. Stated reason for the wrong fare was a GPS mistake. Wonder how often this happens. Makes a small dent in my general good opinion of Uber.
In my experience, this is exceedingly rare. I've used Uber countless times in numerous cities around the country, and I've only had two issues that warranted an e-mail to customer service. Both times I received a satisfactory response within hours. That is much better service than any taxi company will ever provide.
