it clearly says : "Southwest does not involuntarily deny boarding to any Customer who is holding a boarding pass, regardless of fare purchased, status in our frequent flyer program, or any other reason" but they involuntarily denied boarding us while we had boarding pass on hand.
And also my wife had told that I am in the line for checking stroller.
Also I had bought the ticket for about $100 but in points.
I completely understand the situation with the baby. (I also assume the baby is a lap child, otherwise you are at $3900 in vouchers.) DAL-ATL shows sold out until late afternoon/evening today. Now that we know the ticket was a $100 ticket, booked with points, it seems they gave you a $1200 premium for compensation, x2. Again, I'm not saying what the flight attendant/gate agents did was right, or that you did anything wrong, but I think they are bending over backwards in terms of compensation.

$2400 net benefit over an 8.5 hour delayed arrival = $282 per hour. I might babysit your child in the airport for $282/hour.

One other point: did you sign something accepting the compensation in return for not boarding? If so, you are likely considered a volunteer. If not, you may have a case to ask for cash (instead of vouchers) because you were involuntarily denied boarding.

I've never done this or seen this, but my understanding is that IDB is entitled to cash. Check out Section (a)(3) at http://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/14/250.5 -- seems they gave you the max IDB under that provision. So you may have a decent argument for cash if you didn't sign something saying you volunteered. (I'm no expert on this at all, but it may be worth asking about.)

Another thought: if you booked round trip, you may want to make sure your return flight remains intact.
