I think the forward collision system trigger based on your speed too and yes I had false positives once a while too, especially at curves with a car in the opposite lane.
I think my wife was on the expressway both times, so speed would be higher, but tends to be pretty straight in the area she travels. All I know is I couldn't get the thing to trigger, even set at the most sensitive level. I was just kinda curious to see it based on her description.
