The food from IAH to latin america is still sometimes decent. Typically better outbound than return. But I usually eat at Pappadeux in IAH if I have time on the layover.
I rarely fly through iab however I was really blown away by the E terminal united club. I had a red eye land and was able to shower before my flight to cancun. Great club and. I feel compelled to email 1kvoice with my compliments as if you had clubs like this at your hubs at least you would ensure thousands of more united club memberships.
