In this climate, the Sonic Cruiser is not looking so good. A few years ago when times were good, that thing would probably have been a huge moneymaker for airlines.
I still think something like it will be. We haven't seen hardly any improvements in aircraft speed or range in the last 10-20 years. Eventually we've got to work towards that; if it's still taking me as long to get NYC-SYD in 60 years as it is today, I'm going to be pretty disappointed in us.
