Personally, I find that if one is solely after the (airline) food, I personally do not think the price difference is worth paying for.
For the 2500 EUR or so price differce between Y and J, one could have many great meals on the ground. Airline food afterall is merely airfood, no matter how well it is being prepared, it is ultimately being reheated in the plane.
But if one values other things, particularly comfort of travelling in my case, then it could be worth paying for it, particularly for long haul Y to J flights, if one has the extra cash to burn.
