Agreed.
I believe RM actually can/will hold F seats
from sale to ensure the oversell in coach can be resolved at the gate. Not huge numbers but some. I have no confirmation on this.
Also, they will also NOT clear all upgrades in advance because moving oversells out of coach might allow the 'system' to further oversell the flight. So to keep status quo they hold F and they hold oversell -all until it gets to the gate.
