For business class I would say the true value is in the service and the hardware of the seats. Then comes the overall experience (which includes on the ground customer service), and then catering.

You will find better food on the ground at most proper restaurants, where the food doesn't have to be cooked and reheated again on board by crew members who barely have any control over how cooked your meat is.

That said I have had really good meals on planes, most notably on CX and SWISS in F.

Perhaps I'm too jaded with SQ's catering lol
