- a single flyer would rather sit alone in the left side of the ERJ than on 737
- a pair of flyers would rather sit together but apart from other travelers on the right side of the ERJ than the 737
- except if two of the three add small children, a party of three is more comfortable on the 1-2 row of an ERJ than three seats together on a 737
- a party of four would rather be split into two groups of two on the right side of the ERJ than have at least one group elbowing a stranger.

1-2 seating trumps 3-3 seating every time.
I respectfully disagree... ERJ's are a miserable experience no matter where you sit.
