However, as mentioned above, do the YUL - YYZ - YVR - SYD and make sure you get on YYZ - YVR AC 33, which is the flight that continues AC 33 to SYD.

This also protects you in any IROPS since you'll be on the Aircraft going into YVR that continues to SYD.

This way your upgrade has a MUCH higher chance of clearing. Since all upgrades will clear YYZ - YVR - SYD (all the way down to E35 and non-status nominees) before anything clears YVR - SYD (SE 100K MM included).
