YQ for WT+ for LHR-DEL is £116.50 per person
YQ for CW for LHR-DEL is £159.50 per person

Difference in YQ for one person WT+ to CW LHR-DEL is £43 ($71)

Total difference YQ for one person WT+ to CW LAX-LHR-DEL is therefore $223 + $71 = $294 which pretty much agrees with the $280 I am quoting above.
FWIW, this isn't quite how it works. The OP is buying one ticket ex-US for the whole journey to DEL and back.

What you need to do is price this as one journey:-
  • LAX-LHR in WT+
  • LHR-DEL in WT+
  • DEL-LHR in WT+
  • LHR-LAX in WT+

The YQ is $850.00.

Then price this as one journey:-
  • LAX-LHR in CW
  • LHR-DEL in WT+
  • DEL-LHR in CW
  • LHR-LAX in WT+

The YQ is $1,130.00.

Then, for a check, price this as one journey:-
  • LAX-LHR in CW
  • LHR-DEL in CW
  • DEL-LHR in CW
  • LHR-LAX in CW

The YQ is $1,410.00.

That's why the numbers are the round figures of $280 and $560.
