Airworthiness directive limiting 747 ops

B747 has brought to attention an F.A.A. airworthiness directive (see the Cathay Pacific thread) that is limiting 744 ops. The directive, concerning fuel pumps, effects 737, 757 and 747s. These pumps, made by the Hydro-Aire division of Crane Company, may overheat if not operated while submerged in fuel leading to the possibility of fire or explosion.

Among operations being disrupted at CX's LAX-HKG flight which may have to make refuelling stops.
