Is anyone aware of a SPG-wide move to seal windows in hotel rooms in the last 5 years? I find it almost impossible to find a property in which windows open in the guest rooms--even a few inches for fresh air. These are such health-hazards--no fresh air--just sprays of some sort of air freshener between guests.
I've begun to call ahead of time to find a hotel with functioning windows. Does anyone know whether the luxury brand maintains open windows? I've heard that the sealed windows are related to costs in some way. I'm specifically considering the St. Regis hotels in DC and NYC in the next month.
Certainly not *wood (not SPG, that's a loyalty program) wide - I can think of dozens of *wood properties with opening windows.
As for NYC, in addition to those already mentioned, you can ask to have the windows at Le Parker Meridien opened too.
Cheers,
