Never had an issue. I just have it (usually parcels from Amazon!) addressed to me at the hotel with 'guest' and the dates as part of the name field on the label.

I also send an email to the hotel to tell them I have done this as sometimes parcels have arrived before my arrival.

An issue to consider is what would happen if it arrived after your departure and what you would want to happen to it then.
