Assuming that the exchange went as the OP described, then the Lounge Dragon was way out of line.
As an aside, is it a requirement that you be flying that day in order to access the UC as a paid member with a guest? I may be wrong, but I didn't think this was required, and if not, it might be a better idea to respectfully decline to answer the question about whether you are both on the same flight.
