Quick question.

I have the regular HH Amex card (no annual fee) and a SPG Amex that gives me Gold status on Starwood after 35K spent. Currently I only use the SPG card for personal and prof expenses making Gold Status at Starwood from spending. However I mainly stay at Hilton properties making it Gold with Hilton via stays & points.

I am spending over 80K on my SPG Amex /year.
I sometimes barely make it to Gold with HH stays and points.
Would it make sense to use the Amex SPG only to reach 35K (to get the SPG gold status), then only use the HH Amex? Hopefully the extra spending on Amex HH would help me reach HH Diamond.

The idea is to be both SPG Gold and Diamond Hilton H via my stays (HH) and spending (SPG and HH).

What do you think?
