AFAIK, the 1st checked bag free and other benefits are tied to your AA number when you have these cards, irregardless if you use that card to pay for the flight or fees. At least that's my experience with them.
So to your question, I don't think so, since those cards offer overlapping benefits. I don't think AA will let you double dip, unless you come across an exceptional check-in agent who'll wave the fee.
