Easier than flying 24K miles from 2014.11 to 2015.11
If you have 20145 tier miles already, you are already Gold, and will requalify for Gold on the 24/11/2014, even if you haven't reached the new threshold of 24000 tier miles. You just won't have any tier miles left to roll over until next year.

This also means that you only have to gather 12000 tier miles and fly at least 4 flights on A3/OA, or gather 24000 tier miles flying with any *A partner airline to requalify for Gold next year.
