I've done alot of reading on here and around the web about sim cards in turkey and have found it very confusing.

All the turkey cell websites are in turkish so it is hard to understand. I can't seem to find the rates for local calls let alone international calls. I see units of DK.

Is it true that if you don't register your phone, you get approx 10 days to use it before the phone is blocked? but you can just stick the SIM in another phone and get 10 more days? They'll only be there for two weeks.

At this point, I'm wondering if they should get a calling card (with local access numbers) and use a payphone (or local sim in each country). Ofcourse I wouldnt know which one to get and have always thought it was usually some sort of scam

They leave tomorrow. Any recommendations for me to give them? They are asking me for help and I'm not sure what to tell them. So far, I told them to just goto a cell store, tell them what they are looking for and have the sales guy help them.

They basically need the cheapest most convenient option to call china from turkey.
