Hi Bruce, through my amazing research abilities, I actually read the article posted at the beginning of this thread and found this sentence. Read it yourself!
"A man holding joint Canadian-Syrian citizenship was detained Sept. 26 while changing planes at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and deported to Syria."
Yup, joint Canadian-Syrian citizenship. Dual citizen. I'm not surprised the New York Times got the facts wrong with an eye towards demonizing the USA, as this propagandistic newspaper has done this more and more of late.
