Sorry for getting the wrong Syrian. Still, bdschoebel falsely gave the impression that the fellow he was discussing was not a Syrian citizen. In fact he was, so it was not unreasonable for the USA to treat him as a Syrian citizen.

Canada is upset that the USA is not taking into account a person's dual citizenship and place of birth when considering what security measures to apply. In my opinion, the USA would be totally stupid not to consider the fact that a person was born in say Saudi Arabia and thus deciding that a higher degree of scrutiny was called for. Or that a Canadian citizen also happened to be a citizen of say Afghanistan or Yemen. To fail to consider these facts is to subscribe to some kind of suicide pact. Failing to consider these facts is a failure to do everything possible to prevent another mass murder. Further scrutiny of those associated with terrorist haven countries is fully legal moral and right.

Al-Marabh was a Syrian citizen who was also deported this year. It's still important reading to learn about his case, because it exemplifies the need for greater security precautions for people from these countries.
Many have heard of the Yemeni who attempted to cross the Canadian border to blow up LAX, which is another good example why these precautions are needed, but I don't think many have heard of Al-Marabh.

As I said, Al-Marabh was associated with forged documents, stabbing, multiple illegal border crossings, receiving money from known mass murdering terrorists, etc..

The bottom line is that Canada is something of a sieve for mass murdering terrorists from these problem countries. Canada has such grossly lacking immigration and security measures that they are often the preferred route for terrorists seeking entry into America. The USA is the country that should be complaining here. I am not familiar with this most recent case of a Syrian who was deported, but I can say it would be terribly wrong to have not deported Al-Marabh. It would also be terribly wrong not to place increased security precautions on those originating from countries with the highest concentrations of American hating terrorists.
In fact it would be immoral, unless you think doing nothing to prevent mass murder is a moral act.
